Jean Delores Clark

Jean Delores Boone Clark was born to the late Paul & Olivia Boone, Sr., on November 7, 1932 in Hertford County,  NC.

Jean attended school in Hertford County Public Schools system, where she graduated.  After Graduation, she moved to Norfolk VA, and met and married the Love of her life, Ervin Clarke, Jr. They were married 63 years. From this Union they were Blessed to have five children, both birth and bonus.  Jean retired from Norfolk General Hospital where she worked in the Dietician Department.  After retiring, Jean spent her time caring for her grand/great-grandchildren, and friends of the family children she was affectionately known as “NA-NA.” She also sponsored Cruises for relatives and friends. She loved those cruises!

At an early age, she joined First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, NC, her family church where she loved attending Sunday School. After relocating to Virginia, she immediately joined Antioch Baptist Church, Norfolk, VA, and later joined Cathedral of Faith COGIC in 1994, to be with her daughter, Debra.  In 2016, she moved to Williamsburg to live with her son Duane & his Wife Juanita, and worship with them at Immanuel Baptist Church, until her death.

Jean was all about family, both near and far. She was a no non-sense person, independent, and very outspoken. A firm parent /grandparent, good neighbor and friend. A chaste housekeeper who loved to decorate her home each room had it’s own theme. She taught her children how to clean, take care of their things and to be responsible.

 She departed from here on December 9, 2021 at home.  Preceding Jean in death was her parents;her beloved husband, Ervin; One daughter: Linda; Two sons: Charles and ‘Lil Ervin, and One Daughter-In-Love (Juanita). She is survived by Two children: Debra Richards(Artfield) of Norfolk,VA, and Duane Clark, of Williamsburg, VA; Ten Grand Children: Terrance Foster(Jomaira)of MD, John Foster, Jr (Krystal)of Chesapeake, VA, Maria Simmons(Maurice)of Chesapeake, VA, Bernard Holloman of VA,Tonya Hollomon of Norfolk, VA, Anthony Elliott of VA, Sherita Harris of Virginia Beach,VA; Rodger Smith, Nick Smith & Elijah Smith of Williamsburg,VA; Fifteen Great-Grands, Two Great-Great Grands; One Sister In-Law, Mattie Gregory of Chesapeake, VA; a host of Nieces, Nephews,  Cousins, Friends,and a special Care Giver: Mable
