Jean C. Cherry-Purcell, 59,  also known as “DEE DEE” was predeceased in death by her (Father) Crosby Gene Cherry and her (Great Grandson) Ke’Arion Cary on Thursday September 9, 2021 in Sentara Norfolk General. Jean was born on September 3, 1962 to Henrietta Cherry and the late Crosby Gene Cherry. Jean was a native of Suffolk, Va. She attended JFK High School. She worked as a machine operator and dedicated over 5 years of service at Berry Plastic located on Wilroy Rd, Suffolk VA. She also worked Retail at Walmart Suffolk, VA where she retired in 2007. She attended Church at St. Paul RZUA Church in Suffolk VA. She leaves to cherish her memories: (Husband) Ray Charles Purcell (Suffolk): Two Daughters Keisha Cherry and Shamika Cherry both of (Suffolk): One Sister Cathy Cherry (Dallas Texas): One Brother Curtis Harris (Suffolk): Grandparents Mia Cherry and Mr. Cherry both (Deceased) Lillian and Robert “Bob” Harris also (Deceased), Seven Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren,one nephew Willie Max Warren a host of cousins, and friends.

    GOD HAS CALLED ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL ANGEL HOME….im going to miss you dee dee take your rest in paridise…no more pain or suffering just joyous days everyday…so you walk around heaven all day beautiful angel and please tell my mom and sister i love them…prayers and love go out to her daughters and her mom and grankids, and husband to entire family…even though it hurts just know shes good resting in Jesus….

    To Mrs. Jean, who we called “Dee Dee”. Rest easy Queen. You was a women who always was humble and always loved your daughters unconditionally. I could hear you saying “what in the world Tammy”, and laugh at me and Meka always into something. I know we will all meet again to rejoice, in heaven. So sorry to hear of your loss.
