Jean A. Long

Sunrise: September 16, 1936

Sunset: August 2, 2018

Mrs. Jean Arlene Long, daughter of the late Maggie Baxter and Isaac Morris, was born on September 16, 1936 in Portsmouth, Virginia. She attended the public schools of Pocomoke, Maryland. At an early age, she professed her faith in God and His son, Jesus Christ. She served the Lord faithfully throughout her life until her death.
She was united to Robert Long in May of 1983. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2010. She was also preceded
in death by her brothers, Richard “Sugerman” Baxter and William Ferguson; and sister, Wilma Little. Mrs. Long was a longtime resident of Consulate Nursing Home in Norfolk, Virginia. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many and affectionately referred to as “Mama Jean”. Her Christian life was evident while at the nursing home; so much so that many professed that her belief in God was so inspiring, that it led them to the church. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
She quietly departed this life Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Consulate Nursing Home. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her only child, James C. Robinson, of Boston, Massachusetts; her grandson, Shaun T. Robinson of Greensboro, North Carolina; devoted family, Robert Creekmore-Phillips of Portsmouth, Virginia, Laura Dickerson, Mark Dickerson and Jordan Dickerson all of Boston, Massachusetts; devoted cousins, Jessie Mae Baxter- Robinson, Connie Baxter, Michael Baxter, Cherie Ann Baxter-Lewis and Stanley Baxter; devoted friends, Sheila Edmonds-Davis, Chalethia Spain, along with a host of family and friends.

Yesterday, while I was at work, my sister stole my iPad and tested to see if it can survive a 40 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!
