JAMES MICHAEL (DUCK) GOODE, USN Retired 

On Thursday, June 21, 2018, our loving Father called his son James Michael Goode to eternal rest. “Duck”, as he was lovingly called by family and friends, was born March 16, 1954 in Norfolk and graduated from Maury High School.  Duck was preceded in death by his parents, Ennis and Pauline Goode, 2 sisters, Brenda Coleman and Carolyn Trotter, and 2 nieces, Tanya Clark and Sharra Lucas. 

Duck leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved and devoted partner of over 25 years, Vanessa Welborn; 3 children, Nikesha Brady of Jacksonville, Fl., Diondra Goode of Suffolk, and a loving son, Romel Goode of the home; 4 grandchildren, 1 sister, Patsy Jones (Alvin), 2 brothers, David (Mary), and Larry, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

    I’m truly sorry for the loss of your loved one. Losing someone we love is hard to endure but your not alone. With the comfort from family friends and our Heavenly Father(Psalm 83:18) and special memories, it will help you to cope. Soon death will be brought to nothing, 1 Corinthians 15:26

    My deepest condolences to the family of Michael Goode. We go back a long way, even before he was called “Duck”. Raised up together as kids. Rode bikes, played baseball and football together. So many memories of Duck as well as his brother Goose.Rest easy Duck, till we meet again.

    I am so sorry for your loss and ever though I haven’t seen or talked to Duck in 45 yrs. I remember him as a good kind and loving person. I only attended Maury 1 ur, he took me under his wing and really looked out for me and I will never forget that. God will comfort you at this time of sorrow

    Our Condolences to the Family and heart felt Love.
    We are very hurt to hear to late that our cousin, buddy, friend had past and everything was over. Michael knew we were their in spirit and heart. We will always remember his smile and laughing especially as he joked or kidded around. We will miss him but we know that he is in the hands of the Lord God Almighty and his Son Jesus. We know that he is right their with his Mom Pauline being Michael.
