James Irvin Roberson, Jr.

Sunrise: November 9, 1951

Sunset: April 9, 2020

James Irvin Roberson, Jr. known as Jimmy-Long was born on November 9, 1951 to the late Virginia and James Roberson.  James departed on April 8th 2020 in his home.

Jimmy-Long attended Norcom High school and he was born and raised in Jeffery Wilson.  He loved-loved music, he loved basketball and football. His favorite teams were the Pittsburg Stealers and the L.A. Lakers.  He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family especially his son Jermaine.  James was tall and smooth always dressed well with his hat tilted to the side with his shades on.

My father was a strong man even when he was weak.   He put smiles on many of faces, but he was a runner.  He fought a long battle with many addictions.  He knew this battle belong to the Lord.  And the Lord will always take care of us because He has the final say.  We miss you-Jimmy and you will never be forgotten-my dad Jimmy-Long.

He leaves to cherish his son, Jermaine Irving Brown and his daughter,  Wanico Javetta Bradley; two sisters and one brother, Janice Adams, Javetta Campbell and Vance Roberson; brother-in-law, Horace Campbell and son-in-law, Sean Bradley; five grandchildren, Kaila Wood, Johnica Brown, John Bradley, Emmanuel Bradley and Jamari Brown; two great grand-children, Heaven Counsel and King Wood. He also leaves two nieces and one nephew and host of cousins.

We thank you all for being a part of his life.  And we appreciate your thoughts and prayers during a pandemic.  May we come together in love, joy and strength to support any need we may face.  Jermaine and Wanico encourage everyone to continue to pray and keep us lifted during this time.
