James Frederick “Baybro” Wells relinquished his earthly cares and slipped quietly from our Midst on Friday, September 28, 2018 a native of Norfolk, Virginia he was the son of the late Leroy and Florence Wells. He was educated in Norfolk, Virginia and with his overwhelming drive to succeed- held several positions in the Norfolk area before enlisting in the United States Air
Force where he held the prestigious title of Chef. After retiring from the Air Force he began his civil service career at the Naval Base Norfolk Public Works also retiring with over 20 years.

He faithfully attended New Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia where he served as trustee and photographer. If you ever attended a function or event where Wells was present you could count on having your picture taken whether you wanted it taken or not. “Wells”, as he was affectionately called was preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn Johnson, her husband Gilbert Johnson, grandson, Anthony (Tony Redd) Johnson, brother, Herbert Wells, two sisters Alberta Wells and
Florence Elizabeth Wells.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Dollie, his son James Wells, Jr. grandchildren Tracy Johnson (Chad), Gilbert Johnson, Jr., great-grandchildren Deaja Robinson, Darius Johnson, Anthony Breon Johnson, nieces, Carolyn Jones and Shirley Jones, great nieces Brenda Hunter (Thomas) and Angela Little, stepdaughters Kim Smith, Sherri Pulliam (Frank), two step grandchildren Kourtney Pulliam and Keith Pulliam and a host of loving and devoted family and friends.

Wells fought a courageous battle, transitioning as how he lived. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend will be missed and will remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever.
