JAMES EDWARD “PETE” EGGLESTON
On Friday, May 29, 2020, James Edward Eggleston transitioned from his earthly life when God’s angel of mercy came and took our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend into a beautiful place of eternal rest.
James Edward Eggleston was born January 1, 1940 in Edenton, NC. He was the son of the late Sarah Eggleston and Casper Cheeks. He was predeceased by his brother Steve Van Eggleston and sister Shirley Mae Eggleston.
He attended public schools in Edenton, NC and later relocated to Norfolk, VA. He retired from Royal Crown Bottling Company after 15 years of service.
James was a loving, kind, and gentle man. He was a ray of sunshine in the lives of his family and friends. He was an avid sports lover, his favorites included the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, NASCAR, Golf, and tennis star, Serena Williams. We will forever love and cherish his beautiful memory.
He leaves to cherish his memory four sisters Mary R. Jones (Stanley) of Virginia Beach, VA, Emoline Southall (Vernette) Portsmouth, VA, Thelma Eggleston of Norfolk, VA and Jessie M. Archer of Edenton, NC and brother Billy Eggleston of Norfolk, VA. Four nieces Jessica Ferbee and Sarah Melton of Edenton, NC, Johnetta Bryan of Plymouth, NC and Tara Davis of Norfolk, VA. Four nephews James and Malcom Cooper of Portsmouth, VA, Christopher Ferbee of Edenton, NC and Stanley Jones Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
