Ivennia Mae Hicks Ennis, daughter of the late Lunnie A. and Mattie Davis Hicks was born on March 19, 1932 in Ahoskie, North Carolina. She departed this life on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She received her education in the Chesapeake School System and retired from the City of Norfolk as a Special Police Officer.
The family would like to acknowledge and honor the following: her deceased loving husband, Headley H. Ennis and their children Monet Featherson (ex-wife Vanessa Featherson), deceased daughter Iletha Ennis Bailey (spouse Antonio Bailey), Nicole Ennis and Tushaun Ennis (partner Kacey Haskins), Errol Ennis (wife Deborah), Joyce Malbon (husband Johnnie Malbon). She is preceded in death by two sisters and eight brothers: Mrs. Areather Hicks Wilson, Mrs. Blannie Spruill, Mr. Lannie Hicks, Mr. Johnnie Hicks, Mr. Cleveland Hicks, Mr. Spugie Hicks, Mr. James Hicks, Mr. Cecil Hicks, Mr. Ernest Hicks, Bishop George O. Hicks and grandchild Jennifer Malbon. Also, our mother had a host of nieces and nephews locally in Virginia, North Carolina, Washington D.C., Maryland and New Jersey. She also leaves behind several grandchildren including, Dominique Ennis, Erik Ennis, Joyvan Malbon-Griffin, Vanecia Mazyck, Monique Featherson, Iletha Albritton, Harmony and Lyrik Ennis. In addition, she has several great-grandchildren including Travis Mazyck Jr., Carter Mazyck, Jennifer Griffin and Bruce Griffin III.
