Ivan Tyrell Blow

Sunrise: November 7, 1999

Sunset: September 18, 2021

On the afternoon of September 18, 2021, Ivan transitioned.

Ivan “Ty”, was born on November 7th 1999 in Norfolk Virginia. He was the son of Iris Blow and Johnte Jones. His biological father was taken away when he was a toddler.  James (Richard) was chosen by God to raise, nurture and instill the important values of hard work and how to be a man.  Ty admired Richard’s “swag.”  He received his education in the Norfolk public school system. Ivan graduated from Lake Taylor High School in 2018 with honors. Ivan was a true Titan.   He played football, basketball, soccer and ran track.

After graduating high school, Ivan worked a few jobs but his passion was entrepreneurship. Ivan identified was a natural born leader. He owned his own car detailing business. Ivan was also a people person.  Ivan was passionate about enriching others’ lives.  He had a strong desire to not only impact the world in a positive manner. He also had a natural gift that drew others to want to follow his positive leadership.  Ivan also considered being a Merchant Seaman. That would have allowed him to travel the world and find more ways to impact his family lives as well others he may have met along the way.  Ivan was the light of every room he entered, and he enjoyed every activity that brought people together. Ivan loved music, home cooking, sports but most of all making people laugh. He had a smile that was contagious, and a personality that immediately drew people to him.

His relationship with his mom was incredible. They were inseparable. Ivan was the anchor to Iris’s life and she was his cornerstone. When you saw Iris and Ivan you witnessed true unconditional love. When she smiled, he smiled. When he smiled, she smiled even bigger.

Ivan is preceded in death by his father Johnte Jones, his maternal grandmother Sharon Hanson, and other family members.  He leaves those to cherish his awesome memories, Iris Blow (James), Jaunita Collins (Grandmother), Javonte, Clifton, and Cayla Worsley who loved him like a brother and Christil Worsley who cherished him like her own son. Carrera Miller (his Ace and the mother of his daughter, Desirae) two uncles, James Hanson IV (Samantha) and Juan Jones, two bonus siblings, Alexia Moore and Jaman Hoskie, his best friend Dearon Mosley and a host of other family and friends.

As Ty would say “Let’s Get to the Bag!”
