God silently whispered and peacefully led our precious loved one Herbert E. Pye Jr., 63 affectionally known as, “Pig”, and “Big Herb”, to his eternal home November 2, 2024. He was born on November 6, 1960, to the late Herbert Lee Pye and Marlan Patterson In Norfolk, VA. Herbert “Plg” Pye Jr. was a father, grandfather, cousin, and most importantly a friend. He was educated In the Norfolk Public School System and graduated from Norview High School. He later Jolned the United States Marine Corp where he served for many years and obtained his electrician certification. Throughout his life he held multiple positions In the work Industry but took pride in helping people utilizing his handy man skills or telling you how to do it. Big Herb as he was also known as touched many hearts, to know him was to love him. “Pig” enjoyed the simple things in life and found pleasure fishing, going out and working on the boat. He was passionate about spending time with his family and friends. Big Herb was a dedicated Miami Dolphin fan win or lose. He was compassionate about leaming new things and he often challenged himself to implement what he has leamed. “Big Herb” was courageous, and he fought the good fight of faith without wavering. He did not want to complain nor have self-pity, so he kept on going until God called him to his eternal resting place, now free of All pain. His legacy and love will continue to live on in the hearts of his children Herbert Pye III, Jason Pye and Charlene Pye. Along with the mother of his children and ex-wife Arlene Foreman, he also leaves behind ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents Big Herb was predeceased by his longtime girlfriend Barbara Blackledge, who left a tight knit bonus family. He has left an Imprint in many hearts, and he’ll be truly missed by a host of other family and friends. “We’ll endure a lifetime of missing him for the privilege of loving him.” Our Ilves will forever be changed but we find comfort in knowing he Is Now “Free” from ALL pain.
