On April 20, 2020, the Lord called his beloved daughter home. Henrietta E. McKoy, daughter of the late Elizabeth Rodgers and Henry Jackson, was born July 17, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Germantown High School and the Philadelphia School of Practical Nursing in 1956. In 1957, she joined in marriage to Charles E. McKoy Sr., who preceded her in death. From this union there were born four children: Charles Jr., Robert L., Gail Hodges (deceased), and Mark A. From the loss of their daughter Gail, the Lord blessed them with the rearing of the former Jennifer Hodges, whom they considered their daughter.
She retired in 1994 after 22 years with the government. During her tenure she received many awards and recognitions including the the Outstanding, Loyal, and Dedicated Service Award in 1981, Outstanding Performance Award in 1985, and Civilian of the Quarter in 1993.
Henrietta had a very loving and caring nature, that was undeniable. She was filled with humor and could make you laugh in the most difficult times. All who knew her, loved her and were impacted by her presence in the most remarkable way.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories three sons: Charles E. McKoy Jr. of Chalmette, Louisiana, Robert L. McKoy of Norfolk, Virginia, and Mark A. McKoy of Norfolk, Virginia; one daughter, Jennifer Kenworthy of Chesapeake, Virginia; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

April 24, 2020 at 7:05 pmShe told me I was apart of her family when she first met me. I talked with her and sat with her several times a week. I even allowed her to pick on me. She thought it was funny. In less then two years I got to know her well. I’ll miss her greatly.

April 27, 2020 at 12:56 pmWow, Jennifer & Family…Your Mom, ???? My Big-2nd Cuzzin, I’m imagining, woulda been ????Intrigued, ????Impressed ☺ Tickled about the notion that PEOPLE ANYWHERE with an antenna, could tune in to Her Homegoing.
I saw a respectable 71 viewers @ one-time & just before it “fade to black” a total of 33 viewers; “virtual OVER-FLOW.” Perhaps, right NOW she’s in the middle zone; two frequencies, streams of conciousness? Either way, Rise in Power Rhett McKoy. ???? I thank God, upon every remembrance of you. ~Da Book
