Gwendolyn Diann Cherry of the 2500 block of E. Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, VA was born on October 5, 1954 to the late Alven and Robertha K. Cherrry. Gwendolyn has six siblings, Marvette Hardy (Robert), Alven Cherry, Roy Cherry (Sandra) Danita Cherry, Theodore Cherry and Stephanie Cherry Shaw. She is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Gwendolyn worked as a Dietary Technician for several years at Norfolk General Hospital along side her mother. She went on to pursue a career in Hotel Hospitality. Gwendolyn is the mother of two children, Angela Cherry and Shamale Cherry. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Ronnesha Cherry, Malik Cherry, Mercedes Walker and Shaquel Cooper Whitfield; 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Gwen as she was affectionately known was a very loving person and will surely be missed.
