Gregory Raynard Bateman, Jr. affectionately known as “Lil Greg” was born in Los Angeles, California on April 27, 2006.  He transitioned into eternal life on Friday, September 21, 2018. 

Lil Greg attended Rufner Middle School in Norfolk, Virginia where he was an honor student.  He was very intelligent and loved to read.  Lil Greg was a loving, good hearted and well mannered child.  He was a sweetheart who was well loved.  Lil Greg was no ordinary child.  He was a reading enthusiast and enjoyed introducing his siblings to new vocabulary words. Learning was exciting to him.  

He leaves to cherish his loving memory; his parents, Tyeicia and Gregory Bateman, Sr.; one sister, Salice; one brother, Reginald; grandparents, Angela Washington (Clifton) of Norfolk, VA, Owen Morris (Ronette) of Milford, VA, George Bateman (Pinkie) of Bowie, MD and Jean Crowell (Robert) of Washington, D.C. and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

    Greg you were an amazing little guy with such a big heart. Thank you for always being loving and kind to the Kids at the Boys and Girls club. To the family time heal everything and just remember Greg is in a much better place. And I am always one call away.

    I am deeply saddened by the loss of Greg. I pray that you will find comfort during this time and think of all the precious memories that you have. Hold tigh to the promise from God that you will see him again as “a resurrection” takes place (Acts 24:15) May you have peace.
