Gregory E. Vaughan

Sunrise: February 20, 1954

Sunset: January 22, 2025

On Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 8:50 pm, God allowed the angels to open the door for Gregory to enter into the gates of Heaven. Probably there to greet him were his parents, Thomas and Lillian Bynum Vaughan along with a host of family friends and acquaintances. Gregory abides in good company in the presence of God. Gregory attended school in Murfreesboro, NC and was a 1972 graduate of Murfreesboro High School. He later served in the United States Military (Air Force Branch) for four years, receiving an honorable discharge when his service was completed. Gregory worked at Norfolk Naval Shipyard for forty years as a Supervisor Police Officer and Assistant Precinct Commander until retirement in 2014.

In this life he leaves to walk the path of righteousness, his wife of 35 years, Jaye Fuller-Vaughan; son, Terry L. Vaughan; granddaughter, Avionna Vaughan of Waldorf, MD; grandson, Justin Vaughan; great granddaughter, Vera Vaughan, Cumberland, MD; sisters, Joyce Vaughan, Thomasine Vaughan Gatling; nephew, Tremel Gatling of Winston Salem, NC; niece, Takirah Gatling of Charolette, NC; great niece, Kaleila Gatling of Winston-Salem, NC; a dear aunt, Rockey Lou Vaughan-Fenderson of Murfreesboro, NC; two goddaughters, Shynice White of Chesapeake, VA and  Dominique Ross of Richmond, VA. He was blessed to have many cousins, in-laws and friends.

We all in some part will carry the legacy and memories of Greg’s life here with us and we graciously thank God for Greg’s lifetime with us. He will certainly be missed.

Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so , I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. JOHN -14: Deepest sympathy Barbara Nixon Halsey and Family
