Glenda Snowden

Sunrise: November 19, 1947

Sunset: February 7, 2025

Glenda Ray Snowden, 77, passed away peacefully February 7, 2025. Her best friend, Brenda Morrissette, was by her side. She was predeceased by her late husband, Robert “Donnie” Snowden with whom she shared thirty-six loving years of marriage. She was one of eleven siblings, two who are still living, Betty Michalski and Larry Daughety. She is also survived by her nieces, Cathy Scott and Christine Smiley; her nephew, Gary Daughety; her great niece, Jessica Vannoy and her son, Glenda’s great-great nephew, Landon Vannoy (JR). She leaves behind her best friend, Brenda Morrissette and Brenda’s family, The Lilley’s and many other close family and friends.

Glenda was a dedicated cat enthusiast and animal rescuer in Portsmouth for many years. Her cats were her children, and she loved them all dearly. She could tell you all about her “babies” (kitties)-their names; their colors and how they became part of her family.

She will forever be in our hearts and greatly missed by all. Per her wishes she will be cremated and her ashes scattered in the mountains.

Memorial donations may be made to a cat rescue or animal humane society in Glenda’s honor. Please feel free to leave a loving memory of Glenda.

No Services are being planned at this time.

    Glenda,
    What to say?
I still cannot believe you are gone. I for the life of me cannot think of a single day in this World without you in it! You have Always been the Glue, the Peacekeeper and the one place I know I can always go if I need Chocolate and a hug!! I remember sitting on the swing by the pond with my Walkman listening to the Judds one day, making fudge, getting ready for Homecoming Court at your house, and spending Every single Christmas I could at your house! I have so many wonderful memories I only wished Payton had them too. However God has a plan and would never want us to suffer! You are 1 in a million! Now I know your finally with Robert and all your “babies” and I’m at peace knowing your at peace! 💖 We love you so much Glenda!
    Love Always,
Your favorite great niece Michelle & Payton Kerstetter

Glenda is my Aunt, friend, “big sister”. Although we are sad down here I know she is having a wonderful reunion and celebration with family, loved ones, friends and especially all her cats. Their “momma” is home forever. We will see each other again.
    Love and miss you,
    Cathy
