Gino Smith

Sunrise: August 9, 1959

Sunset: August 17, 2020

On August 17th 2020 there was a blaring rubble in the earth as the spirit of a giant began to transition this realm and penetrate the layers of the atmosphere. Heaven had to look out the peep hole in the pearly gates for this one but we know the Creator, archangels, and ancestors

celebrated the Homecoming of thee one and only Gino “The G-Man” Smith. He made his peace with God. Born on August 09, 1959 to the late Rosa Lee Turner-Smith and Louis Calvin Smith Jr, Gino was a one-of-kind, charismatic, enormous, ambient aura. There will never be another man like G ever. Gino’s presence had the ability to command the room, you definitely knew who you were in the presence of (if you didn’t already) because in his own compelling charm, he would tell you. Gino was quick-witted, comical, bold, fearless, intelligent and audacious. He was adored by many.

Gino is survived by his beautiful wife, Valerie Smith,  5 amazing adult children (Darnell Swain, Casey Swain, Veronica Mullen, Tamara Arnold and Gino Smith Jr.), 4 siblings (Dennis Smith, Tonia Greggs, Tony Smith and Anthony Smith), and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends to celebrate his life and continue on building an honorable legacy.

Ancestors predeceased by the Great G include: (brothers & sisters) Larry Smith, Vincent Smith, Billy-Acquilla Smith, Louis Smith, Priscilla Smith, Josette Smith.

Gino excelled quickly in the career of his dreams as a successful contractor with Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Gino took lots of pride in being one of very few “super-shooters” in the entire world, you knew because again…he told you. His expert skill set afforded him the opportunity to travel the nation and live a full and eventful life in many places from Virginia to Hawaii. Popa was pretty-much a rolling stone and yes as you may know…he told you.

Gino “The G-Man” Smith, your memory will be cherished and will live on forever!
