I first met Sir Gilbert as I called him in the late 70s as a member of the National Technical association and in 1986 followed him in the role of National President of the NTA.
Gil was always available as a trusted advisor and supporter and loved by his family in Hampton Virginia and others. I will miss him.

      Hello Charles,
My name is Kim Haynes. I’m Gil’s niece and I was reading your post. Is it possible that you can speak as a mentee who worked with at NASA.

I served with Deacon Gilbert Haynes in the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention. I had so much respect for him, he was a wonderful man of God with a wealth of compassion, love and knowledge. He was really a kingdom man.

Just a few words to express my thoughts on the privilege of knowing and working with a truly great man, friend, and child of God. His wisdom, his devotion to his family, church, community and his commitment to making everything and everybody he touched better are testaments of a life of service and self-sacrifice. Please know that the heaviness of heart and the sense of loss the family must feel is shared by many of us who are beneficiaries of the gifts and labor of Gilbert A. Haynes, my friend.
My family and I express our sincere gratitude for the moments we have shared.
