Geraldine Chesson

Geraldine Simmons Chesson lovingly known as “Gerry” was born on April 1, 1939 in Currituck County, NC. She was 81 years old. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Noah T. Simmons. She attended Currituck Union School. She later moved to Roper, NC where she met and married her husband of 54 years, the late Raymond Chesson.

Geraldine was employed at the Chesapeake Regional Hospital for several years. She became a member of Mt. Hermon Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, Norfolk, VA and was a faithful, devoted member.

She was predeceased by her stepmother, Peal Simmons and her stepfather, George Simpson, Sr. Sisters, Connie and Rosa Lee, brothers George, Frank and Dewey Simpson of Currituck, NC She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted sister; Freddie Ann Moore (Robert) of Ocala, Florida. Her brothers; Larry, Major, Barry and Terry Simpson of Currituck, NC, Lawrence Simpson (Sharon), Queens, NY. Sisters; Brenda Pickney, Marian Bailey and Janie Simpson of York, PA, Janice Williams, Jacksonville, Florida, Brenda Simmons, Southampton, NY, Sandra Herron, Warren Robbins, GA, Linda Simmons, Chesapeake, VA and Janice Simmons, Dix Hills, NY; and a hose of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A special recognition to Beverly Bell who assisted Geraldine in her time of illness.
