Frederick Savage, Sr.

On Saturday, April 6, 2024, our All- Wise God called our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Frederick Savage, Sr. home to his eternal rest.

Frederick (Freddie) Savage was born on August 24, 1951 in Portsmouth, VA to the late Edward Savage, Sr. and Nellie B. Savage. He attended George Peabody Elementary School, I.C. Norcom High School, and welding school. He started a career at Norfolk Naval Shipyard for a few years, then went on to work several odd jobs here and there. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing dominoes, hand dancing, and going on vacations every year to Myrtle Beach with his friends.

Later, he met and married Carrie Bradshaw and from that union was birthed four children, Frederick Savage, Jr., Tyrone Savage, Latoya Savage and Carleana Manning.

Frederick is predeceased by two daughters, Latoya Savage and Carleana Manning and his brother, Edward Savage, Jr.

Frederick leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, John H. Savage of Portsmouth, VA, Wilbert and William Savage (twins) of Maryland; two sisters, Sara Goldsberry (Charles) of New Castle, Delaware and Barbara Horsey of Portsmouth, VA; sister in law, Arie  Savage(Edward, Jr of Norfolk, VA; twenty grandchildren and six great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Mr. and Mrs. Alice Hugley and Diane and George McCoy-Jones.

Freddie will truly be missed by all.
