Freddie Lee Spain Jr., affectionally known as “Spain-O”, received his wings on Monday, April 13th, 2020. A native of Youngstown Ohio, he was born on December 14, 1965 to the late Bishop Freddie Lee Spain Sr. and Evangelist Lillie Mae Spain.
Freddie received his formal education at South High School and then started his career with the United States Navy on board the USS America CV-66. After his honorable discharge from the military, he began working at NORSHIPCO as a Pipefitter. He continued his career at Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a Code 960 Pipefitter and proudly served America’s Shipyard for more than 19 years.
He leaves a legacy of wisdom, love and fond memories to be treasured by his wife, Adrian Spain of Virginia Beach, VA, his son Freddie Lee Spain III, Portsmouth, VA, his daughter Adeja Mone’ Mae Spain, Charlotte, NC and his grandson Caiden Joseph Jackson, Virginia Beach, VA. His five siblings, Lillie Mae Spain of Youngstown, OH, Belinda Jean Spain, Elyria, OH, Kathy Lawson, New Castle, PA, Mark Stephen Spain (Jennifer), Columbia, SC, Charles “Chuck” Spain, Youngstown, OH and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends of the Shipyard and Hummp City Crew who are too numerous to list but never forgotten.
