Fred Lee Stokley

The youngest of 9 Children, Fred Lee Stokley, was born in Hot Springs, North Carolina on August 3rd, 1939 to the late Mamie Maggie-Lean and Charles Stokley. Growing up Fred was a mountain kid who loved to climb the trees and swing from the vines. He was someone who just loved being outdoors. If Fred wasn’t out enjoying nature, he was at home reading his comics and playing videos.

Fred attended schooling in North Carolina until his 2nd year at Stevens Lee High School, He then moved to Long Island, New York where he graduated from Hempstead High School.

Fred was known for having a loving and caring heart. He was the caretaker of his mother until her passing. A few years later, Fred then moved to Virginia with his niece, Christine Burum and late sister, Ella Mae Stokley whom passed on before him. Fred was a very quiet person, who always kept to himself. As Fred grew older, he enjoyed singing, dancing and watching WWE with his family. His favorite singer was Michael Jackson. He was the heart of his family. He is predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Stokley, James Stokley and Bill Stokley; sisters Ella Mae Stokley, Emma Sue Abernathy and Annabelle Grant. He leaves to cherish his memories his two living sisters, Daisy Ruff, Mildred Wertz and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
