Fred Lee Riddick, Jr. passed away on OctoFred Lee Riddick Jr. entered into eternal rest on October 29, 2019 at the age of 68. Fred was a very cool dude, who played by his own rules. He enjoyed riding his bike with his beloved wife,Laverne. Watching his Pittsburg Steelers play football as well as his Western movies.

Fred was educated in Portsmouth City Schools and graduated from I.C. Norcom High School, class of 1970. Fred briefly served in the Marine Corps. Fred was employed as the Superintendant with Portsmouth Public Utilities for 35 years, retiring in 2009. Fred was preceded in death by his father, Fred L. Riddick Sr., his mother, Mattie Riddick, his sister, Hattie Tolsen and his youngest, loving sister Sheila Riddick. He leaves to cherish his loving wife, Laverne Riddick; his only son, Fred L. Riddick III (Jessica); three daughters, Cassandra Trotter (William), Tamika Elliott (Edward), Farrah Riddick; two step children, Veronica (Alfonza) and Joseph (Brittney); Three brothers, Douglas, Maurice and William; three sisters, Martha (Porter), Gloria, Mary-Lee (Alfred); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.ber 29, 2019.

    Working at the Department of Portsmouth Public Utilities with Fred Riddick was an honor and a privilege. Fred was a great leader and he was respected by all who knew him. He will be missed.
