Franchot Tony Spellman went home on August 3, 2018. He was born on February 14, 1939 to the late Ralston and Margaret
Wesley Spellman in Hammonton, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Louise Spellman and Twanda Lewis; brother, Ralston Spellman Jr.; son-in-law, Eduardo Lowery and adopted stepson, Nathaniel Huggins Jr. He moved to Moyock, North Carolina as a child and was raised by Ella Cox Spellman, and completed his education in the Currituck County School System. His first step into employment arena started at Ballance Farm, Snow Jr. & King Contractors and Ford Motor Company only retiring when they forced him out by closing the plant and locking the gate. He was a member of New Weeping Mary Missionary Baptist Church, “Steeler Nation” The Pittsburg Steelers, UAW Local 919, Venture Van Club, avid Nascar Fan and Pool Player.
He leaves a legacy behind four daughters, Vickie Jones-Lowery, Carla (Richard) Adams both of Norfolk, VA, Faye (Michael)
Davender of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Alisha Hawkins of Virginia Beach, VA; seven sons, Wesley (Theresa) Jones and
Jarrell Boone of Chesapeake, Virginia, Christopher Roach of Virginia Beach, VA, Sandy (Sharon) Riley, Sr. of Houston, Texas,
E. Tony Gravely of Newport News, Virginia, Zachary Dunston, Sr. of Detroit, Michigan, Franchot Dunston of Moyock, North
Carolina; 22 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, Margaret (Charlie) Blevins, Jeanette Spellman, Lorraine Lewis
and Gwen Spellman Parrilla; one brother, David Spellman; one sister-in-law, Mary Alice Spellman, a very special niece, Ruth
Ann Hughes, a special friend, Paulette Huggins, and 2 adopted step grandkids.
