Florence Willis, 94, departed this life on August 29, 2019. She was born on September 4, 1924 in Virginia Beach, Virginia to the late Mary Sue Brickhouse and Robert Hill Sr. At a young age, she joined Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. G.L. Parker in 1930. She was a member of the Senior Fellowship and the Senior Choir. After 31 years she retired from Holmes Convalescent Center as a nurse. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, traveling, spending time with her family and friends.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Junious Willis Sr. daughter, Mary Jefferson, son, Junious Willis, grandson,
Norman Jefferson. Left to cherish her memory, her son, Jonathan Willis, daughter, Earlene Elliott, grandchildren; Evangeline Jefferson, Randy Jefferson, Timothy Jefferson, Stafford Jackson, Staffon Jackson, Veronica Smith, Sherry Simpkins, Jonaka Willis-Brown, Jiya Willis, William Clay, great- grandchildren; Jamiya Brown, Jazlynn Brown, Shanice Franks, Jasmine Smith, Dominic Vinson, Valerian Jackson, Tanierra Jackson, Michelle Wiggins, Randy Wiggins, Brian Jones, Jared Stephens, Kymeshia Jefferson, Tavarras Jefferson, Mya Jefferson, Jordan Jefferson, Jakiyah Griffin, Tayion Anderson, Junious Clay, William Clay Jr., Aaliyah Clay, Aaniyah Clay, Zyriyah Clay, Shawneque Jefferson, Darrell Jefferson, Brent Harper Sr., eighteen great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
