Florence Boone James was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia and educated in the Norfolk public school system. She became a Practical Nurse, which afforded her the enjoyment of being a care giver. She started out working with special needs and children who were abandoned at Saint Mary Infant Home. Later she went on to provide care for adults until her retirement.
She was a devoted loving family member and friend. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Maxine A. Bowser (Elder Charles Bowser), son, Otis E. James. Three granddaughters: Jonelle Mason (Deacon Gregory Mason), Valeria Fulwood, Tresha Evans (Andre). Three grandsons: Charles Earl Bowser, Chartros S. Bowser, Chartagan D. Bowser (Brittany). Eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Several nephews and nieces. One special nephew, William H. Boone, Jr and his spouse, Mary and two sons, Nash and Eric. A special niece, Sandra Boone.
Due to the COVID Pandemic, the family will not be receiving friends at the home, but will receive friends at Metropolitan, Granby Street on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 4 to 6pm for an open viewing.
All attending is requested to comply with all CDC/VDH guidelines.
