Eugene Theodore Russell was born June 23, 1938, the eldest of eight children to the late Roland Lloyd Russell and Rosa Goodman Russell. He passed away on January 9, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones in Chesapeake, Virginia. He was born in South Norfolk (now Chesapeake), Virginia. He worked for over thirty years with Norfolk Public Schools as a Maintenance Supervisor at Diggs Park Elementary, St. Helena Elementary, and Campostella, etc. After retiring from the school system, he went to work for the Sam’s Club at Sam’s Circle, He retired after 10 years.
He was a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ in Berkley where his beloved mother was the oldest living member attending.
He was predeceased in death by his son Eugene “June Bug” Russell, Brother, James “JD” Russell, Brother, Carnell Russell, and Brother, Larry Donnell Russell. Left to cherish his memories- special friend- Barbara Lamb. Sisters- Evangeline Pittman, Marian Perry (James); Carolyn Robertson (George); Rosa Owens (Hugo); Aunt Beulah Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
