Ethel Elizabeth Thomas

Sunrise: March 30, 1954

Sunset: May 10, 2019

Ethel Elizabeth Thomas was called to heaven on May 10, 2019 surrounded by her family. Ethel who was affectionately known by her family and dear friends as “Peaches” was born in Portsmouth, VA on March 30, 1954. Her father was the late George Harvey Knight, Sr. and mother was the late Alma Eugene Knight. Ethel was a graduate of Craddock High School. For many years Ethel was a devoted worker at Maplewood Associates. During her 65 years of life she shared many laughs but always left you with a good life lesson. No matter how this day began or ended she would always say be grateful, tomorrow is not promised. You could always put a smile on her face by offering her an ice-cold Pepsi. Ethel was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.

To cherish those memories she leaves, Ronnie Thomas, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL; George Thomas and wife Olivia of Virginia Beach, VA, and Hardin Thomas and wife LaToya of Portsmouth, VA. Her greatest joy over the last few months was being able to spend time with her first grandchild Joel Thomas. She will be dearly missed and forever in the hearts of her three brothers and two sisters; Melvin Knight, Clarence Knight, Eugene Knight, Angela Holmes and Parthenia Knight, and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. Preceding her in death were sister and brother; Ruby Smith and George
Knight, Jr.

I am truly sorry for your loss, what really comforted me in my time of loss is the scripture@ Revelation 21:3&4 . Which gives us the wonderful promise of God wiping out every tear from our eyes and death being no more. I hope this promise from Jehovah will truly bring your family much comfort at this time.
