Estella Vernice Ingram was born January 18, 1939, in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Sarah Jennings Rowe and Maurice Rowe.
She was the last survivor of her late siblings Lawrence Edwards Sears, Marie Buckner, David Lee McCullough and just recently their baby brother Maurice Rowe Jr. Estella was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and sister. She graduated form Booker T. Washington High School and enter the workforce for Norfolk Public School as a cook and then transitioned into a position for civil service as a Warehouse Packer, retiring after 20 years of service. Estella was a longtime member of Oakwood Chapel Church in Norfolk VA.
Estella married and divorced once to the late Robert Ingram. They are survived by son David Ingram and grandson David
Ingram Jr., daughter Victoria Velez (Gregory) granddaughters Sherry Ingram-Johnson, Nivea Velez-Walker, China Velez,
daughter Sharon Butts; children Rodney Ingram, Tiffany Butts, LaToya Butts, Michael Butts Jr., Javon Butts, Joseph Butts, ShaToya Butts, Tania Butts, and Angel Butts, daughter Sarah Tripp (Alan); children Darrion Ingram, Ryan Ingram, Alan Tripp Jr. , Jazmyne Tripp. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and first cousin Ruth Young and a host of nieces and nephews from Virginia, Chicago, Maryland, New York and Pennsylvania.
Estella has always been known for her loving heart and caring ways, her hospitable nature opening her home, heart and kitchen to any and all near and far. She was also known for her wittiness that would lead to an infectious laughter, charm that would have all men young and old blushing with smiles, her determination to fight to the end and most of all her selfless acts that made her our Rock, Confidant and your Biggest Supporter through all endeavors of life. Estella enjoyed family gathering, bus trips, casinos, and shopping.
She departed this world on Thursday, July 7, 2019 to be reunited with family. Estella always supported her family through right and wrong, thick and thin and she will forever be remembered as the ROOT THAT GROUNDED OUT FAMILY TREE.
