Heaven’s gates were opened to receive an angel, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. On Wednesday, February 12, 2020, Ernestine “Tine” Cambron 77, entered into eternal life. She was born in Emporia, Virginia on January 8, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Willie Mitchell and Pleasant V. Mitchell.
She was educated in the Portsmouth Public School System where she graduated from I.C. Norcom High School in 1965 with the ambition of becoming a Teacher. She was a member of the Jr. Band, Speech Choir, Future Teachers of America, the Track Team, Art Club and Library Club. Upon graduation, she began working at the Naval Supply Center in Norfolk, Virginia. She married James Ernest “Jimmy” Cambron Sr., a member of the United States Navy.
Ernestine was always kind to anyone she came into contact with. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, entertainment, arts and crafts. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending every opportunity to shower them with gifts of love and affection.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late James Ernest “Jimmy” Cambron Sr., and their infant son David Cambron, one brother Willie “Pee Wee” Mitchell, two sisters Alinda Mitchell and Felicia Miller (Freddie).
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her sons Tarik Cobb (Hoisuk) and James Cambron Jr, a daughter, Tammy Johnson (Fiancé Lamont), three grandchildren, Keshara McCoy (Brandon), Quinton Cobb, and Byori Cobb. Three great-grandsons Jayden, Desmond, and Kayden McCoy. Four sisters Eva Mae Melville, Irene Mills (Vernon), Ella Rodgers (James), Debra Williams (Ronnie). Five brothers, Lacey, Alvin, Terry, and Tony Mitchell, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.
