“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:6 and 7
On Thursday, January 16, 2020 at approximately 7:15 pm, as part of his great plan; God, our heavenly father quietly called our loved one, Emma Lou Johnson to her heavenly mansion. She was born February 12, 1946 to the late Mother Pearline Davis in Weeksville, North Carolina.
Emma attended the public schools of North Carolina and Virginia. She received her high school diploma from Crestwood High School located in Chesapeake, Virginia in 1967.
Emma Lou saw the need for a personal savior, confessed Christ and joined New Weeping Mary Baptist Church at an early age. She served as a member of the Senior Choir, #2 Usher Board, Young Adult Choir, Gospel Choir, Helping Hands Ministry and the 100-year Church Anniversary Committee. She was a good and faithful servant, homemaker and mother.
Emma leaves to cherish her memory, her only child, Antoinette Johnson; one sister, Virginia Mary Bond; one uncle, Elder Ray Johnson (Celestine); two special sister-friends, Argie Butt-Lamb (Clarence) and Fanny Gallop; special cousins, the Gregory and Morgan Families and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
