Emily Simmons Hendrick 92, passed peacefully, February 5, 2020 in Norfolk, VA.  Emily was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she was a church school teacher, church school superintendent, member of the hospitality and adult mission.  Emily is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Cora Simmons; sisters, Walterlee Lee and Havannah Morton. Emily leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Carolyn Hendrick Elliott; son, Plummer Hendrick, Jr. (Eva); sister, Cora Sutton; grandchildren, Karmelle Hendrick Marshall (Gregory) and Eric Elliott; great-grandchildren, Kamryn Simone Hendrick Robinson and Aaryn Maria Marshall and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.

    May this entire dear family find additional comfort in knowing we share deeply in your loss. Mrs. Hendricks was a third generation church school teach for my family. She loved the children and loved teaching. She knew the most important gift she could give the children was the Word of God. Thank you family for sharing her with our family.❤
