Though I had not known Evon as long as some, she was a gift to us all. She exhibited joy and light….ALL THE TIME! She will certainly be missed. And, will always be remembered with a smile. I know that from above and all around us, she will continue to encourage, bring joy, and keep her light shining.

It is with such fond memories that I recall the many conversations Evon and I had at City Hall. She was always so friendly, so genuine, and so encouraging. I recall the times we’d see each other at the gym. I stopped going long ago, but Evon was persistent and never gave up her routine of working out in the gym. I recall the time the two of us went out to lunch together, our enjoyable talk over sushi, and our promise to go out to lunch again. More recently, I recall Evon’s warm and friendly smile as I introduced her to my family at my retirement celebration. I’ve known Evon since I began working at the City of Chesapeake, in 2001.

To the family, I’m deeply saddened by the passing of your loved one. Evon will most certainly be missed. I pray you will find peace in knowing that she is resting in heaven.

    With love,
    Margaret Johnson.

To the family: I am deeply sadden by Evon’s untimely & sudden death. I will always have fond memories of our friendship and the fellowship we had. Her attending services at my church and my attending events at her church.
She was proud of both of her children and spoke of them often.

She will be missed by many who had contact with her.

I am so sad to see an Angel leave this earth but I know God needed her back. I was so blessed to have Evon in my life. I used to always tell her “when I grow up, I wanna be like you”. I know she left here with no regrets and lived life to its fullest. She leaves behind Luther (her plant) but I will be taking care of him now. You will be forgotten and always loved.

Knowing Evon for 11 years and working with her has been a joyful time. Will miss her laughs and talks about God. She really loved The Lord. I will remember all the times she told me to be quiet Belinda especially when I acted up around her calling heat “MIA” and she would ask me what that meant. I would tell her and she be like “I’ve been here, where have YOU been”? Lol But mostly I will cherish the hours I spent with her and her daughter visiting in the hospital when I made her laugh there as well. She would then call me crazy. Lol We talked about how we both love God and how He never makes mistakes and is always the same yesterday, today and forever. I’ll be seeing you Evon when I come home. Hugs and love.

I’ve known Evon for about 30 years. We met at Bally’s fitness center and have been friends since then. As did another friend, I stopped going to the gym but Evon continued her workouts. Evon was a “sister friend” and I miss her as I would a sister. Condolences to all her family and friends. Remembering her beautiful smile and infectious personality will keep her close to us. Rest In Peace my friend. ?

I was recently informed of your lost. She will never forgotten. I know that Evon will be truly miss. She was my Beauty Consultant for many years. I recalled the short time when I was employed at the City of Chesapeake. She made me feel like I had been there for years. She was kind, encouraging and always had a smile on her face which was contagious.? My only regret is that over the past couple years, I lost contact with her. However, she was always in my thoughts. I pray that God give the family peace and comfort in the days ahead.

    Mom,
I miss you. Thank you for all the laughs. I will miss you always. I am finally getting to a place where I can smile, instead of cry when I think about you. Remember our first cruise together, when the ship left us (lol). Sorry we didn’t get to take our cruise to Alaska. Life is not the same without you. But I will be OK. I know you are at peace, and looking down, with a big smile. Until we me again.
    Your girl,
Katrice, or what you always called me Chatter :)
