Ms. Elouise M. Spencer departed this life peacefully and quietly on December 23, 2024. Elouise was the oldest daughter of the late Willie Spencer, Sr. and Elouise S. Willilams.
Elouise was a very faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she was once a member of the choir where she loved to sing and glorify God, a member of the Clothes Closet ministry, kitchen ministry, and missionary Baptist association. She was also a member of the Eliza Ann Coppage Sunday School Class and Sunday School teacher.
Educated in the Norfolk Public School System, Elouise was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She started her college education at Elizabeth City State College and continued her education at Norfolk State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. She was employed by Norfolk Public Schools and worked as an Adult Educational Teacher. She retired after 24 years of dedicated service.
Elouise was predeceased by her parents, twin brother, Willie Spencer, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted sisters, Delores Spencer Price, Sandra Williams (adopted daughter Christy A. Hunt and adopted sister Shelia Giffin), her brothers, Ivey (Ike) Williams, Earl Williams and Kevin (Butch) Williams; her nephew, Anthony Taylor; her nieces, Shannon Taylor Powell and Tiffany Taylor and a host of family and friends.
