Ellen Jennette transitioned peacefully in her home on Monday May 3 , 2021. She was welcomed into heaven by her 2nd to the eldest son Rodney K Buffaloe. She will forever be an angel to her loving husband James Jennette whom she adored. Their hearts fit together in ways that can’t be seen. They were two souls united in perfect symmetry.
“Bae Bae” as she was affectionally called, was born as Ellen Vernell Buffaloe on June 4, 1944 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Lillie Mae Amos and Waverly Buffaloe. “Bae Bae” graduated from Booker T Washington High school where she stood out as one of the high stepping Majorettes. She loved to perform and march in parades. Ellen was a master at numerous crafts. She could redesign an entire home interior on a $10 budget. As the years went on, she would become the neighborhood safe haven for kids and anyone in need. Anytime in her presence was sure to bring on a laugh as she loved to remark funny sayings. Ellen provided child care for numerous children in her family. She often cared for the elderly and didn’t mind providing care packages of food and necessities for those in need. Ellen was a faithful member of Welcome Temple Community Church where the Reverend Gregory Chapman presides.
Preceding her in death were brother’s Leroy and Joseph Jennette, her eldest sister Hattie Amos, baby sister Donna Amos and Gale Jennette Her legacy is entrusted to her three remaining sons Derrick Buffaloe (Tiffany), Shelton “Hop” Foreman and Trent Foreman (Danielle). She also leaves her bonus children Karen Powell, Aundrell Montague, Kwhanani S. Khalipha, Hosea Braithwaite and Telwanda Braithwaite.
Pieces of her heart are left behind for her grandchildren Brea Buffaloe, Ashli Tripp, Jerrod Thomas, Derrick Buffaloe Jr (Essence), Trent Foreman Jr, Paris Foreman, Isaiah Foreman, Kenny Moore, Jaden Buffaloe, Zynelia Elliott, Caneisha Jennette, James Jennette III, Jentara Jennette, Kiara Fulton, Calissa Fulton, Aaron Fulton, Deveon Braithwaite, Daneshia Braithwaite, Danitra Braithwaite and Angel Braithwaite and 10 great grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by her siblings Juanita “Pudding” Brown (Samuel), Waverly “Bro” Amos (Myra), Barbara Ann Burke, Lillie “Bootsie” Blaney, and Donald “Roy” Amos (Shiquita). Along with her sister and brothers in law A. Barbara Whitaker, Chester (Connie) Jennette, Willie (Barbara) Jennette, Carlton nes (Dawn) Jennette, Rudy Jennette, William (Lynda) Jennette, Thomas Jennette, Mary Davis, Blanche Jennette and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
