Once again, God, in His divine love and infinite wisdom, called home to eternal rest our beloved mother, sister, and aunt, Lois Ella Louise Clayton. She slipped peacefully and quietly away on Monday morning, January 4, 2021.
Lois was the daughter of the late Joseph Clayton and the late Flora Mae McPherson Mason. She was born on March 9, 1960 in the city of Norfolk, Virginia. At an early age she joined Abyssinia Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. She received her formal education in Norfolk, Virginia. She was employed as Nurse Aide.
Lois, affectionately known as “Lois” or “Sis,” was loved by her family and will forever be in their memories. In turn she was a loving, caring, kind dependable, considerate, patient, understanding, trusting, giving, happy, and outgoing person. Her son was her heart and the love of her life. Family was very special to her she was always there when needed.
In addition to her parents, she predeceased by four brothers, Melvin, Charles, Gilbert and Jessie Mason.
She is survived by one son, Timothy J. Clayton of Norfolk, VA; six nieces, Zaire Mason of Waterboro, SC, Cashay C.F. Mason of Norfolk, VA, Jeanette Olirera Ruffin of Hephzibah, GA, Annette William- Ruffin of Hephzibah, GA, and Tacunma Mason of New Jersey; one brother, Walter L. Mason, Jr. of Norfolk, VA; two sisters, Idilla V. Ruffin of Norfolk, VA and Iresdella Mason of Hephzibah, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
