Ella Nash was born in Portsmouth, VA on October 28th, 1950 to Ella Harris and James Garlington. She was reared and educated in Providence, Rhode Island and attended Central High School. Even though Ella has been working since she was fifteen years old and was fiercely independent, Ella’s greatest accomplishments were her four children, Tonya, Derrick, LaWanda, and LaTida. Ella was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church for twelve years, she was an usher and was also on the Pastor’s Aide Committee.
Ella loved social media, as she was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. She was a diehard football fan and loved her Cowboys, often antagonizing the opponents. She was known as Diva E, she loved to shop, she kept her nails and hair done, and her makeup was always on point. You would never catch her without her lipstick! Ella enjoyed gathering with family and friends, she was always the first to arrive and the last to leave. Ella adored her family. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. She always gave them the best advice and if you knew Ella, you know that she always delivered the message straight and uncut. Ella will surely be missed by all, she was truly one in a million. There was only one Diva E!

September 20, 2019 at 4:40 pmSondra and I will always cherish our summer and pop up visits from our cousins. Elouise (she can’t get mad with me now for calling her that) always had a style and flare that we will never forget. She got it naturally from her mom Louise, Mother Sarah and Aunt Evelyn. Though we can’t be with you all today, we love you all and we are praying for you.
