Davie Louis Mabine, affectionately known as David to his close family and friends, was born in Bertie, North Carolina, on March 23, 1931, to the late Theodore and Caroline Mabine. He was born the sixth child of thirteen. He would often say, “Being squished with 6 siblings on top of him and 6 siblings under him helps develop his character.” David was very strong physically and mentally. He loved exercising his body and mind.
David educated himself, for he only made it to the first grade. He could do any math up to calculus. He was a bookworm, he read all kinds of books. He was a great help to us when we needed help with math or with writing a report. When we wrote a report paper, our English had to be on point.
David was also a Bible Scholar. He knew the Bible from front to back. His favorite Book of the Bible was Hebrew. He could recite Chapter 12 in its entirety. While studying the Bible, he researched the names of God and Jesus. During his research, he came across Bishop E.W. Woodbury, Pastor of the Church Refuge Assembly Of Yahweh Yahshua The Messiah, 2808 Granby Street Norfolk, Virginia. From there, David became the Pastor of the Church, Yahweh Assembly of Yahshua, the Messiah Of The Apostolic Faith in Ahoskie, North Carolina.
David was a Master in Chess, Checkers, and Dominoes. He loved playing all kinds of word and mind games, and 98% of the time, he won.
David was a Professional Harmonica Player and would sing over anyone who sang one of his favorite songs.
David married his wife, Grace Mabine, in 1954, and she went home in 2015. They also raised their nephew, Reggie, who is also deceased. He is survived by his beautiful sister, Zenora Watford, whom he loved deeply, and a host of nieces and nephews, great, great-great, great-great-great!!!!!!!!!

March 19, 2025 at 7:48 amElder David was always such a positive person and made you feel like you mattered. I loved his recital of Scriptures and Poems and playing the harmonica. He loved the Word and Name of Yahweh. His posture of The Faith and outlook on life reflected positivity even to his last days. I miss him and Sister Gracie Mabine. Together they were so loving and lovely. Rest in Yahshua, rest in Yahshua.
