Elder Cetha E. Boone, Sr.

Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 3:15 am in Maryview Medical Center our beloved Father, Elder Cetha E. Boone was called home to be with God.

Elder Boone was born on February 28, 1930 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Alfred Boone and Irene Boone. He was 88 years old of his sixteen siblings, he is survived by one sister Mrs. Yvonne Stanley. He married AliceStein Stanley and from that union three daughters and one son were born. They are Alicia W. Lynch (Linwood), Yvonne E. Bullock (Martin), Cynthia R. Sessoms (Jillian) and Cetha Boone, Jr. (Elizabeth). After 40 years of marriage, he was widowed and married Ethel Robinson (Glenda). He leaves to cherish his memories, four children, 6 grandchildren, 14 grandchildren, 4 great, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Elder Boone loved serving the Lord. He was appointed deacon in the Holy Trinity Church in Suffolk, VA. He was Presiding Elder over the district churches in the federation. He built the Hopewell Church, became the Pastor of the church, then Pastor of the Hopewell Church. Later he became the Acting Presiding Bishop of the Federation of Holy Trinity Churches.

During Elder Boone’s earlier years, he worked at Mary Jane Bakery and Star-band Manufacturing both in Portsmouth, VA. He retired from Hoechst Celanese after 42 years of service.

Elder Boone loved to grow fruits and vegetables in the summer and fall.

 

We will miss him.

    Alicia,Yvonne,Cynthia and Cetha JR: Your father was a loving husband to the women who were privileged to be his wife, he was a no-nonsense father, grandfather and stepfather, he was a master homebuilder, he was a wise minister and administrator in GOD’s house and he was an excellent teacher and trainer to anyone who was willing to learn and WE SHALL MISS HIM!!! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

    O I loved Elder Boone great man of God. I’m sorry for loss what a wonderful person. We grew up in the same church together n spend many nights at ur parents house.I can’t come I will be lifting u up n prayer. I love you all.
