Edward Paris Wickley Jr. (E.P.), 88, departed this life into eternal rest Sunday, May 1, 2022. He was born March 23,1934 to the union of Rosa and Edward Wickley, Sr. and their union was blessed with two children

In 1951.5, he graduated from Central Colored High School in Louisville, KY and completed one year of college.

He served in the U.S. Navy from August 1952 – August 1956. Reserved for six years. EP noted his greatest achievement was when he was asked by Secret Service to transport the Vice President Al Gore while he was in Louisville Kentucky.

He worked as an Administrator to the county judge, President of the Neighborhood Block watch, President of First Practice Board of Ford Motor Company, President of the Fifth Division Advisory Board, and Vice President of Lakeview Board, an original member of the Playboy Social Club, and a member of the Elks.

In his leisure, he enjoyed the time traveling with his wife on vacations, and thoroughly enjoyed working in the community.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Mary Williams.

EP is survived by his wife, Fannye Spaulding Wickley; four children, Edwin (Ann), Renee (Ding), April, and Maria (Shane); 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and other family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be Tuesday, May 10, 2022, 12:00 pm, at Metropolitan Funeral Service, 5605 Portsmouth Boulevard Portsmouth, VA 23701 with Father Romeo Jazmin officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-12:00pm prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA 23434.

He will be sorely missed.

    Ed and Fannye were my neighbors in Louisville Kentucky. They were the sweetest couple anyone could ask for, I was heartbroken when they moved away. My thoughts and prayers are with you Fannye and your wonderful family.
