Edward was a gentle giant, he was also a Sweet Spirit. He was my friend and he will be missed greatly. To his family take heart in all the beautiful memories you shared. He loved his family with all his heart and he talked about you all often. To his daughter, you were his pride and joy, especially be that grandson you gave him. I know this is hard to go on without him, but think about what he would want for you. Sleep in peace my friend. With love Reverend Sharon Martin Weaver

I was lucky enough to work with Big Ed for to years. In that time I got to know him as a man that loved his wife and family. He also touched a lot of people in the ship yards. The young people in our trade were drawn to him for his knowledge and patience as he helped them learn our trade. I will miss him dearly and want to extend my deepest sympathies to his family.
