Edward Lee Moyler, II

Sunrise: December 9, 1975

Sunset: October 1, 2024

Edward Lee Moyler, II was born December 9, 1975, at Quantico Marine Base in Quantico, VA, to Nellie Dudley Moyler and Edward Lee Moyler, Sr. He embraced Christianity later in life and was baptized at Jesus Church of Deliverance by Bishop Lagus McCoy.

He was affectionately known as “BOO,” a nickname given to him by his father due to his round, bald head as a toddler, reminiscent of “Casper The Friendly Ghost.” Boo graduated from Great Bridge High School in the Class of 1993, where he was a member of the Varsity Football Team, playing as a defensive tackle. Before his passing, he volunteered as an assistant coach at Indian River High School, contributing to the development of junior varsity offensive and defensive linemen.

Boo held various warehouse positions until a back injury forced him to end his career. During his time at the Dollar Tree Warehouse, he met the love of his life, Iesha Fletcher. After years of dating, they married in April 2006. They had two children, the late Edward Lee Moyler, III, and Nyemah Moyler, and later adopted a son, DeMarques Fletcher (now Moyler).

Following his back injury, Boo became a dedicated stay-at-home dad, working tirelessly to groom DeMarques into the young man he is today.

Boo was known for his sense of humor. Regardless of how serious or challenging a situation was, he could find a way to bring laughter. His philosophy was, “I’m telling you the honest truth, just presenting it to you in a humorous manner.”

Like everyone, he had his flaws, but Boo was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend to all who knew him. He was always willing to help anyone in need.

Boo was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins (now Commanders). If you were a fan of the team, he was the person to go to for any information about HIS team.

He is survived by his wife, Iesha Fletcher, and children: Alisha Parker, Fresno, CA; Alaietra Stewart (Rakeem), Norfolk, VA; Lauryn Moyler, Norfolk, VA; Victoria Haskins, Chesapeake, VA; Iyonna Moyler, Norfolk, VA; Nyemah Moyler, Virginia Beach, VA; and son Demarques Moyler, Virginia Beach, VA. Also by his parents: Nellie Dudley Moyler, Chesapeake, VA, and Edward Lee Moyler, Sr. (Debra), Chesapeake, VA; siblings: Sabrina Cephus (Chris), Moyock, NC; Natyra Shackelford, Bardstown, KY; Nicole Harper Kee (Josh), Portsmouth, VA; Christopher Harper, Chesapeake, VA; Andrae Brooks, Springfield, MA; and Junius Jackson, Conyers, GA. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive him.
