Earnestine Lee

On March 13, 2021, Earnestine Lee, our beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend departed this life to be with her Lord.

Earnestine was born on July 29, 1943 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Elnora Lee and Elwood Blow. She attended Portsmouth Public Schools and proudly graduated from I. C. Norcom High School in 1961. Earnestine earned her Associate’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Thomas Nelson Community College and then obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Earnestine spent thirty-plus years in Manhattan, New York in the communication and finance fields. Earnestine was employed with General Electric Company (1971-1986) from where she retired and later worked with Davis Professional Services (2018-2021) where she built a relationship with friend and co-worker, Rochelle.  Along with dearly loving her family and friends, Earnestine loved shopping, traveling, arts and crafts, tennis, music, and coin-collecting.

Earnestine was predeceased by Elnora Lee and Elwood Blow, parents; Andrew Lee, nephew; and two great-great nephews, Sy’Mier Meads and Maceyn Ramseur. Earnestine leaves to cherish her memory a faithful and loving daughter, Bridget Freeman (Omar); four grandchildren, Anthony Cameron (Robyn), Lamont Cameron (Tawayna), Nikki Wilder, and Janiece Freeman (John); eleven great-grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Frances Sanderlin and Linda Turner and one brother, James E. Lee, Sr. (Constance) along with two aunts, Aunt Mae and Aunt Doris and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, cousins and a host of close friends.

    I am so remorseful to hear of Tina’s passing. I spoke with her as she was working at a doctor’s office or hospital. We were great friends but missed each others calls.i guess we were busy..I truly apologize for this so much. You’re with your heavenly father now may you rest in peace for you have received your Crown in Glory..I’ll miss you sis..I’ll miss you! Lovingly Vida
