Dustin Omar Gallop was born on June 15, 1983 in Norfolk, Virginia. He is the eldest son of Raul and Thomazette Martinez. In June 2001, Dustin graduated from Bayside High School, Virginia Beach, VA and in April 2002, he served in the United States Merchant Marines where they engage in commerce or transportation of goods and services in and out of the navigable waters of the United States.

Looking to pursue greater opportunities, Dustin was appointed as Deputy Sheriff for the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office in March 2004 where he worked in the Corrections Division. Dustin enjoyed life and loved spending time with his family. He had a big heart and was always willing to help others especially those closest to him. Dustin leaves behind to cherish his memories his beautiful daughters Omaria Nole Gallop and Alyssia Nelson, his loving and faithful mother Thomazette and father, Raul Martinez, Jr, his wife, Nicole Slade, a brother, Raul Martinez III, two aunts, Kimmie Stewart and Mia Alston and a great uncle and great aunt, and a host of cousins.
