Mr. Douglas Street (67) was the son of the (late) Lillie Mae Street Hardy. He was born on August 11, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. Douglas departed the land of the living peacefully in his home on August 6, 2022. Mr. Street worked at Photos on Wheels, Virginia Beach, VA for 3 years and Brass Pawn Shop, Norfolk, VA for over 10 years. He was a member of Sanctuary of Hope Church, Portsmouth, VA for over 15 years. Douglas loved the outdoors, taking photos with his array of cameras, race cars and music of all genres. He would sit and play his guitar for hours and was a New York Giants fan. You would always see Douglas strolling around the neighborhood of Westhaven/Midtown in his wheelchair with his cowboy hat, cowboy boots and his Army fatigue jacket(s); don’t forget the cool shades/glasses with his camera taking pictures.
Douglas leaves behind his one and only son Douglas Meredith (Kimberly); granddaughter Genesis Meredith. He was the oldest of his four sisters; Dolores Riddley of Ohio, Noreen Wray (James) of Virginia, Wihelmina White of New York and Alberta Hardy of Ohio. He leaves behind one niece Shamika James and four nephews; David Street (Tarolyn), Kevin Street, Odives (Kenneth) Street and Tony Street; a host of uncles, aunts, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. He was Loved by his Aide Trisha Sykes; who cared for him for 10 years and he was her best friend. Mr. Douglas Street (cousin/uncle Dougie Doug) will truly be missed by many.
