Dorothy Lucas Lassiter

Dorothy Lucas Lassiter, affectionately known as Jill was born March 13, 1949 in Wilson, NC. She was reunited with our heavenly father on July 7, 2021, peacefully surrounded by family. She spent over 30 years living in the Berkley area of Norfolk. She began working as a nurse but later transitioned to her calling as a daycare, and foster care provider. She provided love and care for many until as recent as fall of last year. She was also a member of Sure Foundation Reconciling Ministries Chesapeake, VA.

She was predeceased by her mother Rosalee Bryant and father Frederick Woodard: her son Angelo Lamont Lucas, her granddaughter Miracle Saunders and her brother Dwight Bryant Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved husband of 28 years, Rennie Lassiter, her loving children Lavenia Saunders (Lee), Samantha Lucas, Williamrobert Veale Sr. (Laura) and Christina Bryant. She is survived by her sisters Linda Evans of Philadelphia, PA, Jean Hurdle(Jerome), Jacqueline Crawford both of Norfolk, VA and her brother Ronald Bryant (Inez) of Asheville, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ebony, Elonda, Justiss, Latisha, Tyler, Chantile, Donnie, Jason, Nathan, Elijah, Daeshon, Marissa, Williamrobert Jr, 15 great
grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Dorothy embodied being a mother. She nurtured children. She cared for children. She treated each and every child she cared for as her own.
