Doris Hill, 74, of Chesapeake, VA, peacefully transitioned from this life to her heavenly reward on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, after a brief illness, at her home in Chesapeake, VA.

Doris was born on June 26, 1949, to John R. Hill and Stella S. Hill in Courtland, VA. After graduating from Granby High School in 1968, she worked at Virginia International Terminals and retired after  38 years. Doris was a long-time Mount Pleasant Baptist Church member and was baptized at a young age. She was a faithful member of the Loving Care Ministry, where she enjoyed serving and supporting.

While in retirement, Doris spent her time with family and friends. She loved to travel, read, take line dancing classes, and relax at home. She was affectionately called “Nana” by family members.

Doris was predeceased by her mother, Stella V. Ford, loving stepfather, Jesse J. Ford, and father, John R. Hill.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Adrienne R. Liu (Henry) of Norfolk, VA,  Sheila Hill – Norfolk, VA; a grandson Jason C. Hill(& loving wife Mariah) of Norfolk, VA; and her great-granddaughter Allison C. Hill- also of Norfolk, a host of cousins and lifelong friends from Titus town (Norfolk, VA) where she grew up and maintained these relationships for over 60 years.

Doris was a kind-hearted woman of faith who we will greatly miss.
