Donald E. Lee, Jr.

On Friday, October 11, 2024, Donald E. Lee Jr., affectionately known by many as ‘Moonman, ‘ our beloved father, brother, grandfather, cousin, and friend, peacefully departed his life. Donald was born March 21, 1950, the oldest child of Donald E. Lee Sr & Laura B. Lee. He attended Booker T Washington High School, graduating class of 1968. As a teen, he and his siblings, Jerome and Veronica, formed a singing group to entertain the neighborhood. Donald was also in a harmonizing group with childhood friends called The Chesterfield Heightsmen/Black Mystics members Moonman, BossMan, Lil Red, Schoolboy & Hillbaby. They’d even gotten an invitation from Motown Records to come record a demo.
In his professional career, Donald spends many years as a truck driver with Higgerson & Buchanan and as a Longshoreman.
As an avid Redskin fan, he could always be found in his staple gear, especially hat and jersey… down to the signature Converse. Donald was blessed to have many lifelong friendships that spanned throughout his life.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his five daughters, Angela  Wiggins, Anita Morgan (Wayne), Beverly Lee-Campbell (Kayla), Kimberly Swygert (Bruce) & Tresha Lee-Thornton(Norris), sister Veronica Lee Dowell. 13 Grandchildren Kenesha, Candice, Donesha (Brianna), Rinita, Ritina, Wayne Jr., Andre, Marquise, Armani, Aaliyah, Halle, Mykia & Miciah. And seven great-grandchildren: Breon, Jaylen, Breonna, Amir, Jireh, Major, and Blake. Bonus children Marcia Hawkins, Sharon ‘Neicy’ Hawkins & Timothy Hawkins.  And grands LaShika & LaTiesha Hawkins. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Donald was predeceased by his grandmother Bonnie Lee, parents Donald Sr & Laura Lee. His wife Roberta Lee, brother Jerome Lee, and his son Andre Ulysses Lee.
