Dinean Aulandria Lewis
A precious jewel who loved her Lord
Dinean Aulandria Lewis, 53, of Virginia Beach, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 10, 2023. She is preceded in death by her son, Bryant Anthony Lewis and her father, Anthony Bernard Lewis.
Dinean was the eldest daughter of Anthony Bernard Lewis and Thelma Harrison Lewis. She attended Norfolk Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. As a child, Dinean attended Mt. Horeb Church of God in Christ. As a teen and young adult, Dinean was a member of The Way of the Cross, Eternal Life International Ministries. In her adult years, she enjoyed worshipping the Lord with her family and church family at Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church. Dinean loved the Lord with her heart, soul, and mind. She often told anyone who’d listen, “I thank Him for every little thing!”
In life, Dinean was a loving mother to her son Damarion Lewis and an extraordinary cook. Prior to the decline of her health, Dinean proudly extended her cleaning and organizing services to numerous customers. When she cleaned and organized homes, customers experienced high quality service and the love, care, and detail that only Dinean could provide. Giving of her time and talent was truly her love language. She would go over and beyond to make others feel special and cared for – she was the portrait of selflessness.
It is no surprise that Dinean was deeply loved by family and friends. Although she was often in indescribable pain, she constantly thought of others; always giving a listening ear and an encouraging word. When asked how she was doing she would reply, “I’m fine baby, how are you doing?”
Dinean enjoyed spending time with family, fine dining, and watching good movies. When watching movies with Dinean, family and friends were always prepared to talk to the characters out loud with Nean; telling each character what they should or shouldn’t do — “Run!” “Get out of there.” “Now, why did you do that?”
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the life of her son, Damarion Lewis and through the lives of her mother Thelma Lewis – Virginia Beach, VA and her siblings Dalphine Joppy (Derrell) – Chesapeake, VA; Joseph Lewis – Norfolk, VA, Domonique Lewis – Charlotte, NC, Dinita Laing (Ryan) – Virginia Beach, VA
Dinean leaves a loving legacy to a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

March 15, 2023 at 8:07 pmMrs. Thelma and family,
You all are in my thoughts and prayers! Hold on to Dinean’s memories as you hold on to God’s unchanging hand! She has now taken her rest and has received her heavenly wings! Find joy in knowing that she is now with the Lord! 2 Cor. 5:8 reads, “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”
