Diane Benn was born on April 8, 1959, to Annie Mae Johnson & Daniel Haywood Johnson in Norfolk, Virginia. She departed this life on August 5, 2024, in transit to Norfolk General Hospital. She was affectionately known as “Big Dee”. She was a friend to all. She will always be a mother to her children and Aunt Dee to many others.
She is survived by her son, Kevon D. Benn; daughters, Kewanda M. Benn, and Danyale L. Benn; grandchildren, Perscie S. Benn, Khliah N. Hightower, Eliam A. Benn, Jelani K. Benn and Jamika C. Benn; sister, Brenda Carter; brothers, Emile Johnson and Timothy Johnson; nieces and nephews, Sharnetta, Kiara, Ashley, Danae, and Jaheim, she is also survived by a great-niece. She is loved by many and will be truly missed.
We love you Mommy, always and forever.

I knew you were tired,and you probably felt as if you were a burden to everyone, but that was not so! Anyway, you left a void that nothing or Noone can fill! I often listen to alot of the songs that you enjoyed hearing me sing, and the tears start falling like rain!! To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! To the family, I pray for your strength in the coming days, months, and years!
