Diana Yvonne Riddick Eason, affectionately known as “Diane” was called home by her heavenly Father on the morning of December 15, 2020 while at her home in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Diana was born on August 1, 1957 in Portsmouth, Virginia to William and Norma Riddick, Sr., who preceded her in death.
Diana along with her parents and siblings moved to Chesapeake, Virginia. She attended Chesapeake Public Schools and graduated from Deep Creek High School. She later attended Norfolk State University prior to transitioning into her career as a dedicated Child Care Provider. As a childcare provider, she helped to positively impact the lives of the children she cared for as well as their parents. Her spirit and glow always had a special way of reaching and touching those around her.
Diana met William Eason, Sr & she knew he was the one. They later married and their love story began. From this union, the couple had two sons. She was a loving, devoted, and dedicated wife. She and William recently celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary.
Diana also took tremendous joy in being a committed, supportive, and loving Mother and Grandmother to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, listening to Gospel music, creating and sharing cooking recipes, and cooking comfort foods for those she cared for. One of her most enjoyable hobbies involved sewing for her family and friends. While her hobbies were cooking and sewing, her true joy originated from using her gifts and hobbies to bring happiness and joy to others. She was known for her infectious love and light she shared with all those she encountered.
Diana was a woman of God and true prayer warrior. She was extremely passionate about her love for Christ. She was a loyal member of Portsmouth Christian Outreach Ministries (PCOM) for over 20 years. She served as a dedicated member of the Pastor’s Aid Committee and supported the Church in any way that she could. She remained an active and faithful member of PCOM until she was called home by her heavenly Father.
She leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories, a devoted and loving husband, William Eason Sr.; her sons, William Eason, Jr., and Vernon Eason (Arrealle); Spiritual son Otis Stitt, spiritual daughters, Kendra Nesbitt and Tondra Lawton; grandchildren, Christopher Nesbitt, Keshara Phonville, Keiondra Eason, Korra Eason, Janya Eason, Kaliyah Eason, Vernon Eason Jr., and Victor Eason; four great grandchildren; three brothers, William Riddick Jr., Ronald Riddick, & Alfred Riddick; Three sisters, Denise Jones, Debra Lewis, and Darlene Armstrong; two Aunts, Carolyn Brooks and Sharon Brittle); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Riddick.

Diane was truly saturated with God’s love and she extended that love to the Johnson’s. From being neighbors in Deep Creek until her passing, we considered her and her siblings Family. On today our hearts are also sadden by this earthly loss, but we take comfort in knowing that she loved God and has now transitioned from labor to reward.
